The Veranda's Open Mic is home to singing and playing, reciting, imitating, and all kinds of performing—anything that will entertain an audience.
Each person or group of persons who perform at an Open Mic have a maximum of nine minutes in which to express themselves.
Enjoying Poetry—In this class, you will read, discuss, and enjoy poems in many different styles. There will be some fascinating history, some helpful exploration of verse forms and techniques, and much reading aloud. Come discover the pleasure of poetry.

Cellphone use is welcome before shows, at intermission, and after shows.
⊕ If You Want To Be Onstage At The Veranda
There are three kinds of events at The Veranda—Open Mics, Chatham Revues, and “Suggest Your Own.”
Let me know if you want to take part in one of them.
Each Open Mic performance lasts a maximum of thirteen minutes.
If you wish to perform at an Open Mic, please email email@example.com with your name, phone number, and a brief description of what you will do.
You will be emailed with the date of your performance. Please confirm by email that you are available.
For your participation, you will receive a $5 Veranda gift certificate.
Each Revue has three approximately 25-minute sections, separated by intermissions. Each section will have one or two performances.
If you wish to perform at a Revue, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, phone number, a brief description of what you will do, and the time you will need to do it in. Performances of 5, 10, and 15 minutes will be welcomed and encouraged.
If possible, send a video or sound recording of what you plan to do or of something you have previously done.
Each performance (whether it has one, two, three, or more performers) will receive a percentage of the admission collected for the Revue. The percentage will be based on the length of the performance.
“Suggest Your Own.”
Please feel free to suggest a performance that does not fit into the Open Mic or Cobourg Revue formats.
